The Regional Council of Volunteering has approved the Social Volunteer Regional Awards in its first edition, the Mercedes Moreno Extremadura and the Scouts Association of Extremadura.
These awards have been sponsored by the Department of Equality and Employment Government of Extremadura in order to publicly acknowledge the work done by volunteers in the region.
The awards honor individuals or legal entities engaged in or develop volunteer programs and social activities in Extremadura having distinguished himself in an "extraordinary" in the promotion of voluntary work, or in the execution of social programs or activities for groups disadvantaged, through exercise or volunteer management.
